The Federation of Malaysian Clans and Guilds (Xiang Lian) Youth Association , known in Chinese as 马来西亚宗乡青联合总会（宗乡青）, is a national Chinese youth organisation that brings together the youth wings of clan and guild associations throughout Malaysia.
The organisation connects young people from different surnames, dialect groups, ancestral origins and regions through cultural, educational, leadership and community programmes.
宗乡青汇聚全国各地宗乡会馆的青年团体，促进青年之间的联系与合作， 传承中华文化，并培养具备领导能力、社会责任感及国家意识的新一代青年。

Formation of the Youth Liaison Committee
The Xiang Lian Youth Liaison Committee was established to provide youth groups from different clan and guild associations with a common platform for communication, cooperation and joint activities.
成立「乡联青联络工作委员会」，为不同宗乡会馆的青年团体提供交流、 联络与合作的平台。
Formal Registration as a National Organisation
On 8 June 1994, the organisation was formally registered with the Malaysian Government and became a national youth federation.
1994年6月8日，组织正式向马来西亚政府注册，成为全国性的青年总会。
Adoption of the Official Name
The organisation officially adopted the name The Federation of Malaysian Clans and Guilds (Xiang Lian) Youth Association and refined its organisational structure.
正式定名为「马来西亚宗乡青联合总会」，并进一步调整会名及组织 结构，以加强组织的代表性与运作效率。
Membership in the Malaysian Youth Council
Xiang Lian Youth joined the Malaysian Youth Council, expanding its national youth network and strengthening its participation in youth development.
宗乡青加入马来西亚青年理事会，进一步拓展全国青年网络及社会影响力。
Installation of the 13th Central Committee
In March 2026, the 13th Central Committee for the 2025–2027 term was formally installed, continuing the organisation’s commitment to youth development, cultural heritage and community service.
2026年3月，宗乡青举行第13届中央委员会就职典礼， 2025至2027年度领导团队正式履新。
History of the Organisation 组织历史
The Federation of Malaysian Clans and Guilds (Xiang Lian) Youth Association
The Federation of Malaysian Clans and Guilds (Xiang Lian) Youth Association is a national Chinese youth organisation established to unite the youth wings of clan and guild associations throughout Malaysia.
The organisation traces its origins to 1985, when the Xiang Lian Youth Liaison Committee was formed as a coordinating platform for youth groups representing different Chinese clans, surnames and ancestral origins.
On 8 June 1994, the organisation was formally registered with the Malaysian Government and began operating as a national youth federation. Its establishment marked an important step towards consolidating the various clan-based youth organisations into a structured national network.
In 2003, the organisation officially adopted the name The Federation of Malaysian Clans and Guilds (Xiang Lian) Youth Association. Its organisational name and structure were further refined to strengthen representation, administrative efficiency and national coordination.
In 2008, Xiang Lian Youth became a member of the Malaysian Youth Council, further expanding its participation in Malaysia’s national youth development network.
Over the years, Xiang Lian Youth has developed into one of Malaysia’s recognised national Chinese youth organisations and forms part of the coordinating network commonly known as the Eight Major Chinese Youth Organisations of Malaysia, or 八大华青.
Through national conferences, cultural celebrations, leadership camps, educational initiatives, youth exchanges, charitable programmes and community partnerships, the organisation continues to develop young leaders and encourage meaningful participation in society.

马来西亚宗乡青联合总会，简称「宗乡青」，英文名称为 The Federation of Malaysian Clans and Guilds (Xiang Lian) Youth Association，是一个汇聚马来西亚各地宗乡会馆青年团体的 全国性华裔青年组织。
宗乡青的历史可追溯至1985年。当时，各籍贯、姓氏及宗乡会馆普遍设有 各自的青年团，但彼此之间缺乏统一的交流与合作平台。因此，先贤成立 「乡联青联络工作委员会」，促进各宗乡青年团体之间的联系与合作。
1994年6月8日，组织正式向马来西亚政府注册，成为全国性的青年总会。 组织的正式成立，标志着各地宗乡青年团体开始以更有系统及制度化的 方式建立全国性的组织网络。
2003年，组织正式定名为「马来西亚宗乡青联合总会」，并进一步调整 会名及组织结构，以加强组织的代表性、行政效率及全国协调能力。
2008年，宗乡青正式加入马来西亚青年理事会，进一步拓展其全国青年 网络及社会影响力，并加强与政府机构、青年组织及社会团体之间的合作。
经过多年的发展，宗乡青已成为马来西亚具有代表性的全国华裔青年组织 之一，并参与由全国主要华裔青年团体组成的「八大华青」协调机制。
宗乡青长期举办全国代表大会、文化节庆、青年营、领袖训练、教育计划、 公益慈善活动及跨族群交流。这些活动培养青年的领导能力、文化认同、 团队精神及社会责任感。
